Critics gave the album generally favorable reviews. Distorted Sound’s Scott Wilson gave the record an eight out of ten and referred to it as “a massive win.” The album received praise from Rock ‘N’ Load, who stated that “Battle Ballads is not breaking new ground, however, it is a solid addition to anyone’s collection who likes their Folk, Symphonic or Power Metal.”
